What Makes Jupiter Unique?
Unlike other manufacturers, Jupiter source quality tools, components and
machinery from specialised makers in 8 different countries throughout the world.
Although they have customised tooling capability and make a variety of parts in
house. They recognise the need to use highly specialised suppliers of raw
materials in order to produce instruments of the highest quality.
Wind and brass instruments are precision products and require meticulous
consistency, which is not achievable in large volume by hand. To address this
issue, Jupiter incorporates many CNC machines (Computer Numeric Control) in
their production lines. Their skilled workforce consists of many employees with
over 15 yrs experience.
Tools & Lubricants
Skilled workers and quality hand tools are essential to make true precision
instruments. Jupiter use only the finest available hand tools from Switzerland
and the United States. Jupiter Oils for consumer maintenance are sourced from
the United States.
CNCs, Body Materials, Parts
Japan is the major foreign supplier of raw materials. Silver & Brass plates
are converted into Bells, Tubes & Pipes by JupiterÕs skilled workers.Knock Pins
to attach keys and Natural Cork also come from Japan. CNC machines are all
custom designed and built in Japan.
Parts
Italian makers of accessories have been well respected throughout Europe for
many years. Pads, springs, felts and natural cork come from Italy. Although
natural cork from Italy and Japan is mostly used, the finest synthetic cork from
France is also imported by Jupiter.
Assembly Parts
Although not usually a country associated with the supply of materials used
in the manufacturing of wind and brass instruments, Jupiter does source quality
silver soldering powder from Canada used in the manufacturing of flutes.
Mouthpieces
Pearl Shell used in saxophone keys and trumpet valve finger buttons are
sourced from Germany. Mouthpieces for all Taiwanese made wind instruments are
made by famous European maker ESM in Germany. ESM also make the mouthpieces for
Jupiter Clarinets produced in China.
Lacquer
Although considerable research has been carried out on various lacquers;
there seems no easy solution to extending lacquer life without a negative
influence on sound quality. Consequently, only the finest available lacquers
from Britain and the United States are used by Jupiter.
Jupiter Taiwan Headquarters
Jupiter's Taiwan Headquarters in Chung-Li has ISO 9001 registration from the
United Kingdom and expects the same ISO quality compliance guidelines to be met
by all its suppliers of raw materials and accessories.
A distinguishing feature of Jupiter instruments is that all manufacturing
processes are carried out in Jupiter owned factories under extraordinary quality
controls.
Keys, posts, valves, parts, body mouldings and finishing are all meticulously
machined, beaten and hand fitted to the highest possible standards.
Jupiter has a full team of production managers, developers and production
engineers constantly involved in product design, improvements and manufacturing
processes.

manufacturer of wind and brass instruments and the envy of its other Taiwanese
competitors.
Jupiter China Division
Jupiter's mainland China division located in the Wuqing Foreign Economic
Development Zone also has ISO 9001 registration from the UK through Lloyds
Register Quality Assurance.
